New Arrivals

Every year, Pat buys each of the kids an ornament which reflects what they are interested in at the moment. This year Micah got Mickey because he can't pull himself aways from his Mickey DVD. Mia got Pooh as that is her favorite character and David got Jack Sparrow since he absolutely loves the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Mommy and Mia Rose make it perfect.

Thanks to Mommy and Mia, the tree turned out beautiful. The boys lost interest about half way through the job.

The Tree is finished.

Ahhhh. Such Bliss.

Christmas Tree Set-up Craziness

All heck broke out after we finished decorating the tree.

The Christmas Tree, It's a family Affair

After a little while of this, David and Micah were off doing other things and the final job of beautifyung the tree was left up to Mommy and Mia Rose.

Grandparent's Day Concert

Tuesday, November 20th was a busy day at school for David, not. The school day began at the normal time of 8:05. Then because it was Grandparent's day, David met Grandma and they attended mass together. At 9:00 they went to the SMT hall for a quick drink and snack hosted by the PTO. (Which by the way, Daddy helped set up the night before, causing him to work until 3AM). The entire forth grade class entertained everyone with a concert of patriotic and Thanksgiving themed songs. David played the xylophone during one of the songs. Daddy, Micah and Mia Rose came to watch from the front row with Grandma. Daddy hoped to get some video tape to add to this blog, but quickly realized that wasn't going to happen when he turned on the recorder and was met with a warning that flashed: TAPE AT END. Oh well, enjoy the still pictures. Grandma checked David out of school at 10:30 and treated him to McDonald's. Daddy's second mistake was forgeting to take a picture of David and Grandma, he is hoping to stage one before Mommy finds out. :-)

David, peaking out or hiding? Probably just a bad angle from my seat.

David plays his first musical instument.

WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR MUSICIAN!!!!!

Indoor Soccer

David has decided to broaden his sporting horizon. In order to do this, he joined and indoor winter soccer team. The game is a bit different than regular soccer, in that it is played on an indoor field which is a little bit smaller than a basketball court.

The game itself is a very quick and high speed match with 4 players on each team.

David did a very nice job. He, as well as many of his teammates had never played soccer other than during recess, but they really pulled it together.

David's agility and balance from his years of gymnastics seemed to help him during this game.

David commented afterward, that he had fun and looked forward to more games during the season. The season last from now until Jan. 1, 2008.

It should be fun to see how David and his whole team improve through the upcoming weeks.

First Meet of the Season

Dave's Gymnastic meet was held today in Lee Summit, Mo. The day started out crazy, with the realization that no one purchased David some whitey tighties to wear under his uniform. He's a boxer guy. So we had to run to Target, buy some undies and dress for the meet in the Target bathroom. David was not amused.

We arrived at the meet on time, and David had a great meet. He won 2nd in the all around category. This is a new first for David as the best he has ever achieved at this meet is 7th place. We are, to say the least, very proud of David.
McCracken's as a team won first place. This is a huge accomplishment as typically they place second.
Meet scores:
FX - 8.3
PH - 7.8
SR - 8.6
V - 9.3
PB - 8.5
HB - 7.7
AA - 50.2

First Night

Tonight was the first night in the new beds
Pretend to be asleep.
Look! I am weally asweep!
I LUV IT!
NI - Nite

Good Luck Micah and Mia Rose.

Here is Mia's new room

Mia has the largest of the two bedrooms, so she was able to get a dresser and mirror, Headboard and footboard combo, a matching side table and the cute vanity, mirror and bench. This furniture should last her until she decides to move away from her Daddy at the age of 30.

And Micah's new furniture.

Micah, on the other hand, has the smallest of the bedrooms. We were very careful about picking out his furniture. He has the headboard with a metal frame, a bedside table, and a very tall nook and cranny chest.

As you can see Micah LOVES Thomas the Train!

The Delivery Time that Never Arrived

Today was the big day. Nebraska Furniture Mart called and arranged to deliver the furniture between 10AM and 12 NOON. At 12:01 I called to find out that the time had been changed t0 11:30AM to 1:30PM. At 1:31 I called again and was assured that we would have the furniture in less than a half an hour. (2:00 PM, to help you follow the story) At 2:01 I called and was told that absolutey we would have the furniture in 15 minutes, (2:16 PM) At 2:17......

.....the truck arrived.
